Terms of use
These terms govern your use of Nupi, an iOS app that helps you make sense of your baby's cries and track their daily care, published by an independent developer based in Germany (support@nupi.app).
Acceptance
By installing or using Nupi, you agree to these terms and to the standard Apple App Store EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
Licence
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Nupi on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, under the terms of the Apple App Store.
Your content
You own everything you record and track in Nupi — your baby's profile, tracking entries, milestones, and cry history. You retain all rights. By asking the AI assistant a question, you authorise Nupi to send your message and the limited baby context described on the privacy page to our AI processor, solely to generate that one answer.
Nupi does not claim any rights to your content, does not display it to other users (there are no other users — there are no accounts), and does not retain copies on a server.
The cry analyzer
Nupi's cry analyzer offers insights based on the acoustic pattern of the cry and the context you've tracked. It is meant as a helpful starting point for understanding what your baby may need — a read, not a verdict. You know your baby best; use your own judgement.
The AI assistant
Answers from the AI assistant are generated by a third-party language model. They are intended as general, supportive information and may not always be accurate or complete. Treat them as a knowledgeable second opinion to weigh against your own judgement, not as instructions to follow.
Subscriptions
Nupi offers an optional subscription (Nupi Pro) that unlocks the cry analyzer and the AI assistant's send action. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Any free-trial period not used is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
No warranty
Nupi is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be available without interruption, that cry insights or AI answers will be accurate, or that the app will meet your specific requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Nupi's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable EU consumer-protection law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
- Use the app to generate content that violates applicable law or our AI processor's usage policy.
- Resell, redistribute, or otherwise commercially exploit the app or its output.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer-protection rights under your local jurisdiction are not affected.
